Yawnies
Yawnies seemed like a good idea, but they probably didn't work. What were they? Yawnies were colorful, plush puppet animals with big mouths. A person, most likely an adult person, would stick their hand in the Yawnies' head and make it yawn, which in turn would, of course, make your kid tired and want to sleep right then and there. They were made by a company called Hornby Hobbies in 1987. They had names like Cuddly the Mouse, Dreamy the Lion, Slumber the Cat, and Snoozey Bear. Each had a little “Y” patch symbol on the left side of their stomach.
