Garbage Pail Kids
In true 80's fashion, the Garbage Pail Kids took aim at Cabbage Patch dolls. The line started out as trading sticker cards created by Topps and released in 1985. Each card featured a different Garbage Pail Kid that had some humorous abnormality or deformity, and each had a comical name like Adam Bomb, Half-Nelson, Patty Putty, Mad Donna, Sumo Sid, and more.
By the 2010's, these had a bit of a resurgence, with action figures, t-shirts, and new cards available which parodied contemporary subjects. It is worth mentioning that in 1987, a cartoon was created based on the series, and due to its controversial themes, it was aired in Europe and not in the USA.
