MINI-SERIES ON DVD   Buy New and Used   Shogun was a 10-hour mini-series that aired in 1980.  In this series, Richard Chamberlain starred as John Blackthorne, and English ship captain who shipwrecked off the coast of Japan in the 17th century.  The show was primarily about Blackthorne's assimilation into Japanese culture amongst the Shogun the feuding warlords Toranaga and Ishido.
