MAGGIE SMITH Maggie Smith, born Dec. 28, 1934 in the UK, might be best recognized these days for her role as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter movie series.  Smith actually started an acting career way back in the 1950's.  In the 80's, Smith starred in Quartet (1981), Clash of the Titans (1981), Better Late Than Never (1982), Evil Under the Sun (1982), The Missionary (1982), A Private Function (1984), Lily in Love (1985), A Room With a View (1985), and The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987).
