COURTNEY THORNE-SMITH Courtney Thorne-Smith, born Nov. 8, 1967 in San Francisco, started her acting career in the 1980's.  In the 1980's, she starred in two rather short lived TV series, "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Day by Day."  Her 80's movie resume includes Welcome to 18 (1986), Lucas (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (1987), and Summer School (1987).  Thorne-Smith has had some great roles since the 80's, including roles on "Melrose Place" and "Ally McBeal."  These days, Thorne-Smith can be seen on the TV show "According to Jim."
