WILLIAM SHATNER William Shatner, born March 22, 1931 in Canada, is probably most recognized for his role as Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek series (1966-1969).  He actually started his career way back in the 50's, even starring on the kids TV series "Howdy Doody."  We won't list them all, but there were 4 Star Trek movies released in the 80's.  Other than these, other 80's movies that Shatner starred in include The Kidnapping of the President (1980), Visiting Hours (1982), and Airplane II (1982).  Other than several made for TV movies, the 80's TV role that Shatner is most recognized for was as T. J. Hooker (1982-1986).
