TOM SELLECK Tom Selleck, born Jan. 29, 1945 in Detroit, started his acting career way back in the early 1970's, and some may remember him as Jed Andrews on "The Young and the Restless."  There is no doubt that Selleck is best remembered for his role as Thomas Magnum on the hit TV series "Magnum P.I. (1980-1988)."  Selleck would pop up on Simon and Simon, The Fall Guy, Murder She Wrote, and a couple of made for TV movies.  His 80's movie resume includes High Road to China (1983), Lassiter (1984), Runaway (1984), Three Men and a Baby (1987), Her Alibi (1989), and Innocent Man (1989).  Selleck had a resurgence of sorts, with roles on shows like "Friends," but for whatever reason, he has never been the big box office star (who knows why).
