Tommy Chong (pictured
right), born May 24, 1938 in Canada, is the other half
of the duo Cheech and Chong. Up in Smoke, the
first Cheech and Chong movie, is what launched it for
Chong in 1978. What did he do in the 80's? Cheech and Chong's Next Movie (1980), Nice Dreams
(1981), Things Are Tough All Over (1982), Still' Smokin
(1983), Yellowbeard (1983), Cheech and Chong's The
Corsican Brothers (1984), Get Out of my Room (1985), and
After Hours (1985). He did very little 80's TV
that we know, although he did pop up on shows now and
again, such as "Miami Vice." Recently, Chong
landed the role of Leo on the TV series "That 70's
Show." He continues to act, but mostly does
stand-up comedy these days. Quick facts:
Chong's father was Chinese; Staying true to his stoner
typecast, Chong has been arrested on drug charges.
His family ran an on-line headshop for a short time. |
