Sammy Davis, Jr., born
Dec. 8, 1925 in Harlem (died in 1990), started acting
back in the 1930's. Some of you might be surprised
to find him on a site about the 1980's, but Davis was
actually very busy in the 80's. You could find him
popping up on Archie Bunker's Place, Sanford, The
Tonight Show, Fantasy Island, The Cosby Show, made for
TV movies, and the Arsenio Hall Show. For us, the
80's role we remember most when thinking about Davis,
was his role as Morris Fenderbaum in The Cannonball Run
I (1981) and 2 (1984). Other 80's movies on his
resume include Cracking Up (1983), The Perils of P.K.
(1986), and Tap (1989). Davis was part of the
original "Rat Pack," the group of actors appearing in
the original Ocean's 11 (1960). |
