Robert Duvall, born
Jan. 5, 1931 in San Diego, is one of those great actors
who continues to stand the test of time. Duvall
started way back in the 60's, and a very few of you
might even remember him as the original Major Frank
Burns on the TV series "MASH." Duvall had some
great 70's movie roles as well, including The Godfather
(1972), The Godfather II (1974), and Apocalypse Now
(1979). But hey, this site is about the 80's,
right? Duvall did some 80's TV, the most notable
role being that of Gus McCrae in the "Lonesome Dove" TV
mini-series. His 80's movie repertoire includes
True Confessions (1981), The Pursuit (1981), Tender
Mercies (1983), The Stone Boy (1984), The Natural
(1984), The Lightship (1985), Belizaire the Cajun
(1986), Let's Get Harry (1986), Hotel Colonial (1987),
and Colors (1988). Duvall continues to stay very
busy. |
