Richard Roundtree was
born on July 9, 1942 in New York. Roundtree is
probably most remembered for his role as Shaft from the
1970's (both TV and movies). Some of you might
remember that this role was reprised by Samuel L.
Jackson recently. Roundtree did a lot of TV in the
80's. Some might remember him from the late 80's
TV series "Generations" (from 1989 to 1991) or from the
TV series "Cadet," which had a short run starting in
1988. He also was a guest on CHIPS, The Love Boat,
Magnum P.I., Murder She Wrote, and a ton of made for TV
movies. His 1980's silver screen resume includes

(1981), Q (1982), One Down, Two to Go (1982), The Big
Score (1983), Young Warriors (1983), Killpoint (1984),
