Richard Gere, born
August 31, 1949 in Philadelphia, started his acting
career back in the 1970's. Although he starred in
some great 80's movies, Gere is more popular these days
(especially in the 1990's). As far as we know,
Gere did not star in any TV shows in the 1980's, but he
did star in the following movies: American Gigolo
(1980), An Officer and a Gentlemen (1982), Breathless
(1983), The Honorary Consul (1983), The Cotton Club
(1984), King David (1985), Power (1986), No Mercy
(1986), and Miles From Home (1988). Pretty Woman
was not released until 1990. He continues to stay
very busy, with several projects on the back burner.
Quick Fact: Gere one a gymnastics college
