Jean-Claude Van Damme,
born Oct. 18, 1960 in Brussels, started his career
playing a gay Karate man in Monaco Fever (1984).
Van Damme really came to fame in the late 80's, early
90's, but has sort of faded away since then to some
degree. His 80's movie resume also includes No
Retreat, No Surrender (1985), Black Eagle (1988),
Bloodsport (1988), Cyborg (1989), and Kickboxer (1989).
He had several more pretty good movies in the early
90's, but after this, they really starting going South.
However, because we are big fans of Van Damme, we want
to give him credit where credit is due. The last
two Van Damme movies we saw, In Hell (2003) and Wake of
Death (2004), were pretty good. Van Damme is an
underrated actor, in our opinion, and too often
typecasted. |
