JAMES GARNER James Garner, born April 7, 1928 in Oklahoma, is one of those actors who stands the test of time.  Although  Garner has been acting since the 50's, many people did not began taking notice of him until the TV series "Rockford Files" in the 1970's.  He also starred in the short run TV show called "Bret Maverick (1981 - 1982)."  Although Garner mostly starred on TV related shows, his 80's movie resume includes The Fan (1981), Victor/Victoria (1982), Health (1982), Tank (1984), Murphy's Romance (1985), and Sunset (1988).  These days you can find Garner on the TV show "8 Simple Rules."
