HOWIE MANDEL Howie Mandel, born Nov. 29, 1955 in Canada, had his start in the 80's.  He was given his own talk show in 1998, but it did not pan out.  As far as the 80's are concerned, he was probably best known for his role as Dr. Wayne Fiscus on the TV series "St. Elsewhere."  Did you know he was also the voice of Gizmo in Gremlins (1984)?  Movies Mandel starred in in the 80's include Gas (1980), The Funny Farm (1983), A Fine Mess (1986), Walk Like a Man (1987), and Little Monsters (1989).  Mandel also played the voice of several of the cartoon characters on the Saturday morning show "Muppet Babies."
