GERALD McCRANEY Gerald McRaney, born August 19, 1948 in Mississippi, is probably best known for his role as Rick Simon on the TV series "Simon and Simon (1981)" and as Mac McGillis on the TV series "Major Dad (1989)."  McRaney has actually been acting since the late 1960's, but has always been primarily a TV actor.  He did star in a few 80's movies, including The Never Ending Story (1984) and Jackals (1986).  He made numerous TV appearances in the 90's and over the last several years.  We were big fans of Simon and Simon here at www.ilovethe80s.com.  Want to re-live the theme song?  Click HERE.
