EDDIE MURPHY Eddie Murphy, born April 3, 1961 in New York, really came into his own during the 1980's.  Some might argue he has yet to match the popularity he found in the 80's these days.  It all started with his stint on SNL (1980 -1984), where he played characters like Mr. Robinson, Buckwheat, and Gumby.  His movie list includes 48 Hours (1982), Trading Places (1983), Best Defense (1984), Beverly Hills Cop (1984), The Golden Child (1986), Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987), Coming to America (1988), and Harlem Nights (1989).
