Alan Rickman, born Feb. 21, 1946 in the United Kingdom, is probably better known now than as an actor than he was in the 80's.  Never the less, not counting his TV appearances, the two movies he was part of were Die Hard (1988), where he played the menacing role of Hans Gruber, and January Man (1989).  Word has it that Rickman consistently gives up choice movie roles in order to entertain his true passion, live theatre.  We loved him in Galaxy Quest (1999).
