Vinnie Moore (member of the band UFO at the time of this
writing) is another one of those neo-classical
instrumental guitar players who plays the guitar like Malmsteen or Implletteri,
but a little more subdued. He started his professional career in
Delaware at the age of 12 (circa 1976). Moore played in bars for
years, until a Shrapnel Record Label exec discovered Vinnie and worked
on getting him a deal.
In 1985, Vinnie Moore's hands starred in a 1985 Pepsi
commercial. In 1986, Vinnie Moore's first album was released
Mind's Eye
(1987) and featured Tony MacAlpine on keyboards. The album
received several awards. In 1988, Moore released
Time Odyssey
(1988), and continued to have additional releases over the
years, including 2001 (Defying
Gravity) and another release in 2009 (called To the Core).
Over the years, Vinnie Moore could be found playing in
other bands as well, such as Vicious Rumors and Alice Cooper. At
