As you can see from the picture, about the
closest these guys got to being Japanese was when they ordered
take out. Tokyo Blade was an English band that started out
way back in 1981 as a band called "Killer", and later as a band called
"Genghis Kahn". The band was considered one of the handful of
groups that came out of the British New Wave of Heavy Metal movement.
In the early days, Tokyo Blade shared the stage with bands like
Metallica and Venom.
Tokyo Blade's had their
debut release
in 1983 and a follow up in 1984,
Night of the Blade.
As the mid 80's rolled on, Tokyo Blade toured with the Scorpions, Dio,
Ozzy Osbourne, and Blue Oyster Cult. Unfortunately, band member
stability was an issue for the band, and by 1985, the band had it's
first break. From 1985 to 1989, guitarist Andy Boulton continued
the Tokyo Blade moniker as "Andy Boulton's Tokyo Blade" while other
former members went on to other projects (Shogun, Johnny Crash, for
examples).
Since the 1980's, Tokyo Blade has been reincarnated in
various ways. At the time of this writing, the Tokyo Blade
