Firehouse Greatest Hits

Firehouse was an American band that heralded from Charlotte, North Carolina circa 1989.   Although the band's claim to fame did not come until the early 1990's, their talent allowed them to ride the coat tails of 80's heavy metal while other bands were drowned out by the Grunge movement.  Some of you may even remember that Firehouse won the 1991 award for Favorite New Hard Rock Artist, beating out Grunge acts like Nirvana and Alice and Chains.  Even as the 1990's rolled on and metal rolled out, Firehouse continued to remain extremely popular in Asia, Japan, South America, and the UK.

In reality, the roots of the band Firehouse went back several years before the move to Charlotte.  By the time they moved to North Carolina, the members of Firehouse were recording music out of their apartments during the day and playing shows at night.  In late 1989, a representative from Epic Records was asked to attend one of the band's shows.  After the show was over, the band had a contract.

Many of you will remember their self-titled 1990 release, which featured the songs "Love of a Lifetime" and "Don't Treat Me Bad" and went double platinum.  Their second release in 1992, Hold Your Fire, brought three more hit singles:  "Sleeping With You", "Reach for the Sky", and "When I Look Into Your Eyes".  Although their third release in 1995, titled 3, did not do as well in the USA, it was a mega-hit overseas.  Some of you may remember the song "I Live My Life for You", which is the only top 20 metal songs to chart as late as 1995.

As the years went on, Firehouse could be found rocking out in various metal-reunion tours, such as Rocklahoma and Rock Never Stops.  In 2004, Firehouse became the first American rock band to tour India (40,000 people attended one of these shows).  At the time of this writing, the Firehouse Discography was as follows:
