Armored Saint, eh? Sounds like a good name for a Christian
metal band, but since Armored Saint allegedly picked the name after
smoking ganja in Monterey Park...
Formed in 1982 by Phil and Gonzo Sandoval awhile
attending a high school in California, and was
one of those L.A. bands that gained popularity
in the mid 80's with albums like
March of the Saint (1984) and
Delirious Nomad (1985). They
produced several albums throughout the 1980's on both the Chrysalis and
Metal Blade Records labels. Some of you may remember Armored Saint
for the song "Can U Deliver" off of Delirious Nomad (1985), which
received some decent air time on MTV.
In 1999, Armored Saint was back on the scene on small
venue tickets with bands such as Dio and Lynch Mob. Throughout the
first decade of the 21st century, Armored Saint continued producing and
even opening for Metallica. At the time of this writing, the
Armored Saint Discography was as follows:
1983: Armored Saint
1984: March of the Saint

1987: Raising Fear
1988: Saints Will Conquer Live
