Let's shove a bomb in everybody's
what? Although less notorious in the USA (Europe
really loved them), many of you may remember the German
band Accept for the song "Balls to the Wall," which is actually a
song about oppressive slavery.
Accept has been described as an
early "speed metal" band, and although we will agree that Accept was an
edgier metal band, we still liken speed metal to
bands like Anthrax and Megadeath.
Although Accept initially got
together in the 1960's, their professional career didn't get kicked off
until the late 1970's. In the early 1980's, Accept began to gain
notoriety in the USA while on tour with Judas Priest. It is
probably safe to say that Accept's heyday was in the early to mid
1980's, although they maintained a presence well into the late 80's. Accept produced
over
10 albums throughout the 80's,
most by way of Udo Dirkschneider's
unmistakable voice (and short hair).
Post 1980's, Accept was
resurrected in some form or another with various band members and new
album releases. At the time of this writing, Accept's Discography
consisted of the following releases:
- 1979: Accept
- 1980: I'm a Rebel
- 1981: Breaker
- 1982: Restless and Wild
- 1983: Balls to the Wall
- 1985: Metal Heart
- 1986: Russian Roulette
- 1989:Eat the Heat
- 1993: Objection Overruled
- 1994: Death Row
- 1996: Predator
- 2010: Blood of the Nations
- 2012: Stalingrad
