BUY THIS POSTER!   Buy New and Used The Blob, released in 1988, is a re-make of a 1958 film starring Steve McQueen.  In this movie, a gelatinous glob of goop falls from the sky, and then goes about the business of eating up people.  Interestingly enough, the more humans it absorbs, the bigger it gets.  Come to find out, the blob is actually a secret weapon gone awry.  After it eats up the scientists that created it, and grows to the size of a building, somebody finally figures out that liquid nitrogen will kill it.  But is it really dead?
