Buy New and Used Starring Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen, Starman was released in 1984.  In this movie, Bridges plays the role of a very nice (child like) alien who comes to earth and takes the human form of Jenny's (Allen) late husband.  Starman (what they call the alien) convinces Jenny into helping him get to Arizona, where he must be in order to return home.  As Starman becomes more human, and more like Jenny's husband, she falls in love with him, only to have to say good bye.
