Buy New and Used THE COLLECTION The first Cocoon was released in 1985, and Cocoon the Return in 1988 (both could be considered comedies).  In the original, some aliens are on their way to earth to rescue some lost buddies who are stranded at the bottom of the ocean when some things happen.  The aliens end up stashing their buddies (who are in pods) in a retirement community swimming pool.  The residents, who like to swim, quickly realize the youthful power of the water.  They can either stay on earth and die, or travel to space with the aliens and live forever.
