Defender is by far one of the best known
80s arcade games (early 80's), often mentioned in the same
breath as games like Centipede, Frogger, and Pac
man. Atari was actually able to produce a half-way decent
reproduction of it for the 2600, but none of us here at
www.ilovethe80s.com owned that one personally. Even the
Atari 2600 version of this 80s game was tough. 25 cents didn't
go far. This game ranks on our top 10 list of the greatest
